Lowcountry Law Enforcement Leaders Endorse Jenny Costa Honeycutt for Congress
All six SC-01 sheriffs and leading police organization endorse Costa Honeycutt campaign
CHARLESTON, SC – With a strong, united show of support, the Lowcountry’s law enforcement leaders announced today their endorsement of Jenny Costa Honeycutt for Congress in South Carolina’s First Congressional District.
Beaufort County Sheriff P.J. Tanner, Berkeley County Sheriff Duane Lewis, Charleston County Sheriff Carl Ritchie, Colleton County Sheriff Buddy Hill, Dorchester County Sheriff Sam Richardson, and Jasper County Sheriff Chris Malphrus joined the South Carolina Police Benevolent Association in endorsing Honeycutt’s campaign.
“Jenny Costa Honeycutt has always had law enforcement’s back, and we have hers,” said Sheriff Richardson. “Jenny knows the Lowcountry, knows our communities, and will be the strong advocate we need in Congress to keep the Lowcountry safe.”
“As Chair of the Charleston County Public Safety Committee, Jenny’s leadership has been instrumental in providing our deputies with the tools and resources necessary to not only serve and protect but also to ensure they return home safely to their families each day,” said Sheriff Ritchie. “Jenny is a proven leader and proven supporter of law enforcement in the Lowcountry. I am proud to join my fellow Sheriffs and the SCPBA in endorsing her candidacy.”
“When the Lowcountry needed assistance to reduce case backlogs and process evidence quicker, Jenny Costa Honeycutt got to work,” said Sheriff Lewis. “Jenny led the collaboration between local, state and federal leaders to see the first regional approach to DNA testing in South Carolina become a reality. Jenny knows the Lowcountry, knows our needs, and has proven she will deliver for us in Congress.”
“While Nancy Lacore chastises federal law enforcement agencies and sides with criminal illegals over Lowcountry citizens, Jenny Costa Honeycutt never wavers in her fight to keep the Lowcountry and our nation safe,” said Sheriff Tanner.
“It is simple – Jenny Costa Honeycutt knows the Lowcountry and will always fight for us,” said Sheriff Hill.

In accepting the endorsements, Costa Honeycutt stressed her passion to serve the Lowcountry and her commitment to keeping it safe.
